SGA 101: Taking Your First Steps Toward Preparing a Sustainability Strategic Plan
Planning strategies for sustainability in your organization can be fraught with many pitfalls because there is little information available to establish the right priorities—especially in terms of meeting stakeholder expectations of stakeholders for going green. This workshop, delivered in-person to a group of 6 – 15 participants provides an overview of the current state of sustainability in the marketplace, definitions of sustainability, and practical, hands-on first steps your organization can take to preparing a sustainability strategic plan. The workshop content is intended for any size company, sector, and leadership capacity and requires no prerequisite (although SGA 100 is optional and recommended). Takeaways from the workshop include recommended research, initial stakeholder assessment information, criteria for creation of your planning team and selection of initial activities for an outline to customizing your sustainability plan. The 3-hour workshop includes a 1-hour introduction of content and 2 hours of hands-on activities with worksheets provided by the SMI consultant.
